The Problem

Students in my college struggled to find like-minded peers for hackathons and projects. WhatsApp groups were chaotic, and there was no centralized way to showcase current skills or find collaborators based on specific needs.

Why It Mattered

Talented students were missing opportunities simply because they didn't know who else was interested in the same technologies. A platform was needed to democratize project formation.

My Approach & Tech Stack

I envisioned a "LinkedIn Lite" for the campus. I chose a stack that allowed for rapid prototyping and real-time updates.

Architecture & Flow

• Authentication: Users sign up with college email to verify identity.
• Profile Creation: Students list skills and current learning focus.
• Discovery: A search interface allows filtering by skill (e.g., "Python", "Designer").
• Connection: Direct messaging or "Request to Join" for projects.

Challenges & Lessons

One major challenge was handling real-time data sync without overwhelming the client. I learned how to optimize Firebase queries and structure NoSQL data efficiently.
